STAFF members at Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan in Abergele have praised their “outstanding” students on their GCSE results.

In terms of individual success, the highest achiever was Lilly Gill, who secured 9A* and 2A grades.

She was closely followed by other stars with multiple A* and A grades, including:

Head of Year 11, Darren Doyle Howson, said: “I am really proud of the collective and individual performance of the year group.”

Headteacher Sue Williams said: “Our young people should be very proud of these examination results.

“Their achievement is outstanding in many areas which is a fitting reward for the commitment that the learners have shown.

“Well done to everyone who has achieved their qualifications at the school and thank you to those who have worked relentlessly to give our learners the greatest chance of success.”
