A WOMAN in Rhyl who defrauded customers while in charge of a motorhome company in Scotland is to repay a small fraction of the approximate £350,000 she gained.

Christine Galloway, 68, of Llys Gwynant, was jailed for 12 months at Dundee Sheriff Court on June 16, having admitted a charge of fraud.

This was in relation to her time as the sole director of Fife-based St Andrews Motorhomes Ltd, when she was accused of making gains of £347,450.

Following the conclusion of a confiscation hearing at Dundee Sheriff Court yesterday (August 15), Galloway has been ordered to pay a total of £2,008.75.

Galloway placed St Andrews Motorhomes Ltd into liquidation in the summer of 2018.

The court previously heard that, between September 2016 and June 2018, Galloway told various customers that her company would sell their motor vehicle or caravan on their behalf.

They were told that they would each receive payment within 30 days of the sale, with Galloway also telling them to hand over keys and documents relating to the vehicles and caravans.

She was then accused of failing to pay the individual amounts specified to the customers, and in doing so, obtaining 12 motor vehicles worth a total value of £347,450.
