A NEW 12-hole, “castle-themed” crazy golf course is set to open in Towyn next week.

“Crazy Golf Towyn” will be based at the Old School House on Towyn Road, which is also home to “Planet Play” and “Scoot North Wales”.

Louis Ellis (Palins Holiday Park, Kinmel Bay; Locked in North Wales escape room, Abergele) will be running it with his husband, Ash, and has also received planning permission to build two escape rooms in the upstairs of the same building.

Its opening date for the crazy golf is set to be Wednesday, August 9, with the adverse weather of late causing a slight delay to its launch.

Plans to open new crazy golf course and ‘escape rooms’ in Towyn

A statement from Crazy Golf Towyn said: “The weather recently hasn’t been on our side, but it looks to be changing.

“Therefore, we are opening on Wednesday, August 9 11am-8pm (last entry 7pm).

“Open daily throughout August, weather-permitting, (we are) also serving snacks, soft and alcoholic drinks for you to enjoy while playing.”

The crazy golf is also holding an opening month special offer of £4.95 entry for adults and £3.95 per child.

Booking is not required, with both cash and card payments accepted.

Having purchased the Old School House several years ago, Louis, who was “Born and bred in Towyn”, told the Journal last month: “I just wanted to give people more things to do.

“When families come on holiday here, I wanted them to have another attraction in the area that they can all do.

“The course will go around the outside of the building - there’s going to be a big dragon, knights and horses there, and water features.”

The proposed new escape rooms, Louis said, will hopefully open at the site in 2024.
