A COUPLE of friends from Rhuddlan and Prestatyn have set up their own North Wales-wide events company with the aim of creating “something more special and memorable”.

Chris Gentile (Rhuddlan) and Jen Wardell (Prestatyn), who have known each other for about eight years, have formed “Boujee Events”, with two Christmas events already confirmed.

For Chris, setting up his own events company marks the realisation of a long-held ambition.

The emphasis, he said, will be to tap into North Wales’ more rural areas.

He said: “We’re going to be running ‘pop-up’ events all across North Wales. We’ve organised two Christmas events at Lyons Robin Hood in Rhyl, and are looking at trialling some smaller-scale themed ‘bottomless brunch’ events, starting from September.

“We just saw a gap in the market, really. We especially want to target the more rural areas, where you don’t tend to get these kind of events.

“Sometimes, people forget about those areas when, in actual fact, they’re a really good group of communities.

“Where larger event companies might not look to even entertain the idea of a small rural village, we’re willing to give that a try.

"There are a lot of people in these smaller villages who don’t really get access to things like this on their doorstep.”

Boujee Events plans to cater for all sorts of special occasions, with anyone with questions urged to email info@boujee-events.co.uk.

Its two confirmed Christmas events will be an “ultimate Take That Christmas party” on December 1, and then a “Boogie Bingo Christmas party night” the following evening.

“I’ve always been interested in events, and I’d always wanted to run an events company. Jen’s very creative, and I’m more on the marketing side of things. We’re just trying to create something more special and memorable.

“There’s nothing better than putting on an event where you can see the happiness in people’s faces.

“It really gives you a good kick, and in a way, it’s giving something back to the community, as well.”
