FORMER Countdown star Carol Vorderman is sharing some of her encounters in isolation prior to filming I'm A Celebrity South Africa.

Writer and presenter Carol is due to be seen as part of the All Stars line-up for the upcoming series, airing on Monday 24 April for three weeks on weekdays.

However, the final week of the show is set to clash with the Eurovision semi-finals on Tuesday May 9 and Thursday 11.

A new trailer for the show showed Vorderman and fellow contestant Helen Flanagan getting ready to take on terrifying trials, with the Countdown host facing a challenging bungee jump.

Before joining her campmates, Carol, who grew up in Rhyl and Prestatyn, had to undergo an isolation period where she was attacked by a monkey and had to take part in "bikini trials".

In a social media post, Carol promised to share updates with her followers and show them how she spent her time before entering the camp last September.

According to her post, she endured monkey attacks and hippo mating calls while exercising and enjoying beautiful sunsets during her isolation period.

She said: "South Africa is going to be on your screens a week today! So, I’m taking you along with me to see how I spent my week before going into camp last September.

"I’m going to show you my journey to South Africa and how I spent my week in Isolation.

"This week included a 'monkey attack', hippo mating calls, lots of exercise, bikini try-ons and beautiful sunsets.

"I can’t wait to share it all with you and bring you along with me for this week before I went into camp."

Carol also revealed in her post that her worst challenge during her previous stint on the show in 2016 was "walking the plank".

Fans are eagerly anticipating the return of the popular show, which promises plenty of suspense and excitement.
