TWO FRIENDS have opened a tanning shop in Rhyl, after taking over the site from another sunbed hotspot.

Chantelle and Georgia have opened The Glow Zone at 44 Kinmel Street, having snapped up the site that was previously Icon Tan.

Having wanted to open their own business for ‘ages’, they finally realised their dream when the shop launched on Monday, 20 March.

“Georgia and I have been talking for ages like childhood friends do about starting up something together and nothing has ever materialised,” Chantelle told the Journal.

“But when I saw the post to say the shop formally known as Icon Tan was up for sale for such a good price we jumped on the idea.”

The shop offers advice on tanning and maintaining your ‘glow’, and provides different bed booking options, with courses ranging from three to 90 minutes, with an unlimited time package also available.

The store has both stand up and lie down, high-power performing beds, with a range of creams available to purchasing customers.

The store has already received a lot of support from residents, with the duo having admittedly been ‘apprehensive’ ahead of opening.

Chantelle said: “We are only in our first week of trading but it has been really exciting, our social medias are full of support and we have seen a lot of lovely customers already and can’t wait to see more.

“We were obviously apprehensive on how this was going to work around our lives and children being business owners but so far so good.

They already have plans in place for an expansion of their services, hoping to offer more beauty treatments in the near future.

“We can’t wait to see where the shop takes us!”
