ZIP World’s new Skyflyer attraction Rhyl has been deflated following its official launch being postponed for the third time in the last year.

The attraction, to be located along Rhyl's seafront by the Pavilion Theatre, was planned to welcome thrill-seekers on board from March 11.

This followed delays to its take-off date last July and August.

But its launch was delayed again on March 8 due to an “engineering and design challenge” found during testing.

The blimp, which will reach heights of 400ft in the air, was deflated and transported from the seafront last weekend.

A new opening date for the Skyflyer has yet to be confirmed.

The Skyflyer was also deflated last summer following the delays to its launch.

Its re-inflation, on March 2, took roughly six hours to complete.

The 20th adventure launched by Zip World, the Skyflyer enables passengers to enjoy panoramic views of the North Wales coast and beyond.

On a clear day, passengers can see all the way to Liverpool and the Wirral, including the peaks of Moel Famau and Snowdonia.

The ascent takes three minutes and the ride is accessible to wheelchair users, people with other disability needs, people of all ages, and dogs.

Zip World said it would be in touch with those who had already booked a ride on the Skyflyer, and said it will confirm its new opening date as soon as possible.
