AN APPLICATION to build a noodle bar on Rhyl’s High Street has received the go-ahead.

The plans, submitted by Shrewsbury-based company Sparta Foods Limited in November, were approved by Denbighshire County Council yesterday (March 15).

A Chopstix Noodle Bar will be set up; a chain which, despite having sites across the UK, has none in North Wales currently.

It will be based at 13-15 High Street, which was previously occupied by a Claire House charity shop until February 2021.

Chopstix’s menu includes egg fried rice, vegetable noodles, sweet chilli prawns, and a variety of curries.

In the application, it is stated that the Rhyl noodle bar will be open from 10am until 11pm, seven days a week.

Denbighshire County Council granted planning permission on the condition that, prior to opening, the applicant installs all noise mitigation measures outlined in the approved Noise Impact Assessment.

When consulted, Rhyl Town Council raised no objections to the plans.

The shopfront at Choptix will be glazed with white powder-coated aluminium frames, and a black powder-coated aluminium door with pull handles in brushed stainless steel.

The shopfront will also feature a white powder-coated aluminium fascia sign panel.
