BELOW is a round-up of all of the criminals whose prison sentencings were covered by the Journal, Pioneer or Chronicle in January.

These five men were all jailed for their involvement in the trafficking of a 14-year-old boy in Rhyl.

The boy was sent to supply heroin and cocaine in Rhyl, an area which he had no connection to.

Pryde, of Nant Y Gro, Gronant, was jailed after pleading guilty to 10 offences.

These included criminal damage to property and breach of a restraining order.

Arnold Hazizi

Hazizi, of Windsor Street, Rhyl, was jailed for his involvement in producing more than 1,000 cannabis plants in the town.

The cannabis was estimated to have had a street value of as much as £848,000.

Brandon Bellham

Bellham, 27, of Esplanade, Penmaenmawr, had admitted coercive and controlling behaviour, non-fatal strangulation and malicious communications.

He was jailed for more than six years.

John Yates

Yates, of no fixed abode, Llandudno, killed dad-to-be Chris Smith on the M6 Thelwall viaduct after hitting while driving at roughly 128mph.

He was under the influence of drugs, and fled the scene by jumping over a barrier immediately after the incident.

Sam Dicken

Dicken, 26, of Green Terrace, Trefor, was sentenced to prison after failing to comply with the sex offenders' register’s notification requirements.

He gave indicated pleas of guilty to three offences at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on January 16.

Gareth Davies

Davies, 45, of Tai Richmond, Blaenau Ffestiniog, was jailed after he pleaded guilty to assaulting one police officer and resisting another.

The court heard how Davies committed the offences while under the influence of alcohol, and during the operational period of a suspended sentence issued to him previously.

Kenny Blake

Blake, 25, of Corbett Square, Tywyn, was jailed after he had caused a serious crash which left a woman with life-changing injuries.

He had earlier pleaded guilty of causing serious injury by dangerous driving following a crash near Barmouth in October 2021.

Gareth Edwards

Edwards, of Penrhyn Avenue, Bangor, was jailed after burgling two addresses in Menai Bridge – including the home of a 90-year-old woman.

When the neighbours asked him to leave, Edwards said she’d attacked him, to which they told him: “Don’t be ridiculous, she’s 90 years old”.

Graham Thomas

Thomas, 66, of Maes-Yr-Ysgol, Holyhead, was jailed after an “unprovoked attack” in a social club toilet on the same person he had also assaulted more than a decade earlier.

He had seven previous convictions for 10 offences between 1977 and 2008.

Blake, 26, of Gwynedd, became one of the first in Wales to be jailed for non-fatal strangulation following a change in legislation.

He was sentenced on January 6.

Jones, 39, of Llanbeblig Road, Caernarfon, assaulted a security guard at the Castle Hotel/Y Castell on the evening of 1 May 2022.

He then assaulted a police officer on arrest.

Milburn, of Maes Gwelfor in Rhydwyn, Holyhead, was handed a life sentence after he bludgeoned his estranged partner to death.

"You clearly are a dangerous individual," the judge told him.
