A FANCY cocktail, a decent cup of coffee, a glass of Champagne - there are a few drinks I'd be willing to pay a bit extra for.

But £2 to £8 for a hydration drink created by a couple of YouTube stars - probably not.

Securing a bottle of the coveted Prime Hydration is a commendable feat as the drink has been flying off the shelves since it was launched in the UK back in May.

Newquest journalist Shivani Chaudhari, who works for one of our sister titles in Worcester, tried the drink.

She managed to get a bottle for £8 at a Nisa Local shop.

She said: "Having been reporting on it all week it was only right I tried it to find out if it was worth the hype.

"Where is the hype coming from? Well, Prime Hydration has been launched by controversial but immensely popular YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul.

"I tried the Blue Rasberry flavour and I was expecting it to be bright blue, but instead, it looked cloudy.

"The taste? Think melted ice pole, the ones that give you a bright neon-coloured tongue followed by a five-hour sugar rush.

"One of my colleagues, who was just as excited to try the drink as me, said it tasted like a melted slush puppy with too many flavours coming all at once.

"I'm not sure if I could drink a whole bottle without starting to feel sick because it is very sweet.

"Perhaps I am not in the target demographic but I don't think I will be buying the drink again. Especially not at £8 a bottle."

"I think, although I enjoyed the chaos that went towards getting a bottle, the experience was not worth the result.

"But hey, maybe I'll like one of the other ten flavours."
