A WOMAN in Rhyl has pleaded for donations to support the family, and the costs for the funeral, of her best friend who died suddenly last weekend.

Courtney Wiltshire-Furmedge, 24, was found dead in her Liverpool flat on Sunday, October 16.

She had suffered from a brain aneurysm, though a cause of death has yet to be confirmed.

Chelsey Leigh, 30, moved to Rhyl several years ago along with her friend, Jodie Inman, before Courtney later relocated to North Wales herself.

Courtney, who leaves behind her son, Michael, was described by Chelsey as having a “heart of gold”.

A GoFundMe fundraiser page has been set up, with a target of £2,000 to help Courtney’s family.

Chelsey said: “It is a tragic loss that has been very sudden.

“It was so unexpected, so her brother has all of these funeral costs to pay, so we’re trying to get the GoFundMe page out there to help. I can only help by trying.

“She had a best friend called Jodie, one of her close mates from Liverpool, and me, as well. We both moved to Rhyl, and she then came here, too, for a fresh start, living with Jodie for more than 12 months.

“We’ve known her for most of our lives. We went to school together. Every time we’d get together, she was the bubbly one. She was the life and soul of the party.

“She was just a happy little soul; anyone who knew her knew that. She’d do anything for her boy, Michael, and just had a heart of gold.

“We were only with her last Thursday. It’s all for a good cause; this little boy’s got to grow up without a mum.”

Courtney’s friends and family are also planning to climb Snowdon next weekend in a bid to raise further funds.

Her funeral will be held in Liverpool, though no date has been confirmed yet.

A post on the GoFundMe page added: “On Sunday, October 16, our life come to a standstill and time froze when we tragically lost our beautiful friend, Courtney.

“She was only 24 years old. She was an amazing girl, with her whole life ahead of her, with so many memories to make.

“RIP Courtney; you will be sorely missed and loved by all your girls, your family and friends.”
