THE Vue cinema in Rhyl is to offer a live broadcast of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on Monday (September 19), free of charge.

The cinema, on West Parade, will be otherwise closed on Monday, which has been declared a bank holiday.

The Queen died aged 96 on Thursday, September 8 after 70 years on the throne; the longest-reigning morning in British history.

Her state funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey on Monday at 11am, after which her coffin will be taken to St George’s Chapel, Windsor for a committal service.

A Vue statement said: “On Monday, September 19, our UK venues will be screening the live broadcast of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.

“Seats will be free of charge and our retail offering will be limited to complimentary bottled water during the broadcast, with no other snacks or drinks available for purchase.

“No other content will be shown on this day.”

You can reserve your seat for free at myvue.com/announcement.
