AN Abergele teenager is climbing up the British Superbike ranks as he aims to claim his place in the British Superbike Championship in years to come.

Calum Beach, who goes to Ysgol Eirias, competes in the HEL British Junior Supersport Championship, with aspirations to race on both the British and World professional tours.

Young Calum was brought up around motorcycles, with his father Paul the service manager at A&D Motorcycles in Denbigh, where Calum also works on Saturdays.

This enthusiasm for motorbikes was fostered at five years of age, when Calum started track racing in a mini moto, progressing rapidly and eventually becoming Under-9s mini moto world champion in Spain.

Paul praised his son’s character and personality, and attributed his son’s success to hard work and perseverance, saying: “He is a really nice kid to be around who works hard to whatever he puts his mind to.”

Father Paul said they are looking to continue his development on the Junior circuit, with spirits high having had an interrupted 2020-21 season, and a long recovery from a bad leg injury sustained at Knockhill race circuit a couple of years ago.

“Our next aim is to progress whilst competing at BSB this year in the HEL British Junior Supersport Championship riding a Kawasaki Ninja 400,” Paul added.

“Despite an interrupted 2020-21 season and a long recovery from an injury, Cal feels he can compete at a good level in BSB 2022.

“Calum is ready for the challenge and we actively looking for support/sponsors to help and join us on the journey.

“He performed really strongly last year despite the change of Class and scored a 4th place finish at Donnington Park.”

The father-son duo are inviting potential sponsors to have their company logo on Calum’s bike, and if you would like to discuss this contact via email at paulbeach478@aol.com or phone on 07979407469.
