VALE of Clwyd MP Dr James Davies is calling on local students and independent filmmakers to enter a prestigious competition which could put them on the path to stardom.

The Parliament-sponsored annual competition 'Film the House' puts young local filmmakers in contact with influential people in the film industry and a spotlight on the best of UK film talent.

It also gives MPs the opportunity to engage with talented constituents and the creative industries, which contribute over £115billion to the UK economy and employ over two million people each year.

Dr Davies is keen to see people from the Vale of Clwyd enter, adding: "Film the House is a pioneering competition that showcases the UK’s young filmmakers, while raising awareness about the importance of intellectual property (IP) to our creative industries.
