A WREXHAM jewellers celebrated 90 years by receiving a visit from the Mayor.

PW Hale’s jewellers on Bank Street was established 1932 by Percy Hale which was then taken over by his son Colin in 1961.

The shop is now run by Colin’s wife, Brenda following his retirement seven years ago with Brenda herself having worked at the jewellers for over 50 years.

The much-loved family business is also helped by Brenda’s daughter, Amanda and their son-in-law Pat. Daughter in-law, Rachel Hale has also recently joined the team following the sad passing of beloved staff member, Ann, who worked at PW Hale’s for 40 years.

The Leader:

The rich family tradition is continuing into the next generation too, as granddaughter, Milly has started working at the jewellers on Saturdays.

When asked what is their secret to longevity, their answer was simply 'trust and their outstanding personal service'.

In a recent visit, Mayor of Wrexham, Brian Cameron was quick to offer his congratulations as he said: “I’m very pleased to be invited to this fabulous event celebrating 90 years of Hale’s in the city centre. It’s lovely that so many people are coming in this morning and it’s nice to see how friendly the staff are.

The Leader:

“I met three generations of Hale’s and I also understand you employ eight people in the business bringing funding to the local economy. Thank you very much for inviting me and I hope you’re here in another 10 years to celebrate your 100th birthday.”

To celebrate their achievement, Hale’s are giving away nine clogau enfys bracelets. Every customer who purchases an item from August 1-5 will be entered into the draw and it will be drawn on Saturday, August 6. It is limited to one entry per person.
