A MAN has been banned from the roads and ordered to abstain from consuming alcohol after he was found guilty of three driving-related offences in Prestatyn.

Oliver Godfrey, 30, of Hartshill Road, Hartshorne, was accused of the following while driving a Citroen vehicle on Lon Gwyndaf on July 2:

• Driving with 98 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath (legal limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath).

• Driving without third party insurance.

• Driving without a licence.

Mr Godfrey pleaded guilty to all of the above at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on July 18.

He was disqualified from driving for 26 months, though this will be reduced by 26 weeks should he complete an obligatory course by January 19, 2024.

The court also ordered him to avoid alcohol for 120 days, which will be electronically monitored.

Mr Godfrey is also to complete a 35-day “thinking skills” programme, and undertake a maximum of 10 days’ rehabilitation activity.

He is also to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85, and a £95 victim surcharge.

This total of £180 is to be paid in full by September 18.
