A BUSY day for North Wales Police (NWP) officers in Denbighshire yesterday (July 21) saw arrests made for driving-related offences, assault, and possession of an offensive weapon.

A car (pictured) was stopped and seized in Kinmel Bay due to the driver being disqualified from driving and uninsured.

NWP’s Intercept Team said: “The driver will get his day in court to let the magistrate know why he thinks their previous punishment doesn't apply to him.”

Later, two males were arrested in Rhyl for failing to appear before the courts.

The Intercept Team added: “Both males (were) taken directly to the court to answer why they felt they didn't have to attend in the first place.”

Yesterday afternoon, an officer was also assaulted in Prestatyn after a foot chase with two men.

No serious injuries were sustained, and the officer and his colleague were able to detain the two males.

The man who was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker was also found to have had a knuckle duster (pictured, inset) in his bag.

He was also arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and is now in custody.

The Intercept Team added: “It's horrible to think what injuries our officer could have sustained had the weapon been used against him.

“Another unlicensed driver taken off the road, along with an uninsured car, and another dangerous weapon taken off the streets.”
