OUTDOOR activity giant Zip World is launching two new attractions across North Wales later in July.

The adventure company is introducing the world’s first cavern-style 18-hole golf course set 500ft underground at its Llechwedd Slate Caverns site based in Snowdonia.

Its new four-storey obstacle course is set to be the biggest of its kind in the UK, while an airship based in Rhyl, elevated 400ft in the sky, will give panoramic views of the North Wales coast and beyond.

The company’s “Tower Climber” also open its doors at its Rhigos site in South Wales on July 11, meanwhile.

“Tower Climber” and “Underground Golf” welcome adults and children aged three and above and are offering family and group discounts through the summer months.

For children wanting to reach new heights, “Skyflyer” has no age limit.

Zip World has previously attracted the likes of Joe Swash, Paddy McGuiness, Carol Vorderman and Julie Walters to try its daring activities and is expecting to welcome more than 700,000 visitors this year.

Other activities on offer to adrenaline junkies at Zip World’s locations include an exhilarating four-person zip line and an enormous underground bouncy net playground.

Mini thrill seekers can get their kicks too, with “Big Red” – the largest mobile zip in the world – allowing children to ride alongside one another on 270ft zip line.

Sean Taylor, founder of Zip World, said: “We’re thrilled to be announcing three brilliant brand-new attractions this summer.

“Each adventure brings something totally unique, and we’ve tried to ensure that friends and families don’t have to travel too far to experience something new by introducing attractions to a number of our sites.”

“We wanted to enhance our offering and introduce activities that were inclusive to families and groups of people of all ages without taking away the thrill factor.

“From underground adventure golf, to flying high above the skies, all of our activities are fun-packed and perfect for an adventure getaway.”

Prices start from £7 but vary depending on your adventure of choice.

Skyflyer at Rhyl, North Wales – launching July 21

Based on the sunny Rhyl coast, Zip World Rhyl is home to Skyflyer, the world’s only sight-seeing experience of its kind, where people can enjoy panoramic views, hovering 140m in the air on its balloon airship.

The attraction has been designed to be accessible to all, including wheelchair users, and has space for other disability support equipment.

Underground Golf at Llechwedd, North Wales – launching July 29

The world’s first underground adventure golf set in a cave is set 500ft below the ground in a disused cavern and is only accessible by Europe’s steepest cable railway.

The 18-hole course offers an impressive display of lighting and interactive elements as you putt your way through the course’s exciting and unique levels, with four floors to tackle.

The mine’s interesting history is weaved throughout the course, and as you dive deeper into the course and climb the levels, the challenge will increase, really putting people’s skills to the test.
