The Play That Goes Wrong
Cardiff Millennium Centre
The Cornley Drama Society are putting on a murder mystery set in the 1920.
However, things didn’t go quite as smoothly as they might have hoped – but the performance went off without a hitch.
The Play That Goes Wrong is a multi-award winning production, currently on its fifth UK tour and well worth getting tickets for.
Taking farce to the next level, fans of slapstick, wordplay, innuendo and general chaos will enjoy this.
The accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences.
From the set falling apart, various cast members getting knocked unconscious – ‘backstage crew’ having to fill in to an entirely absent guard dog – even if you guess what’s about to happen, it’s still funny.
One scene, where the two actors get muddled in terms of who speaks when, is very reminiscent of the classic Two Ronnies ‘giving the answer to the previous question’ Mastermind sketch.
The Play that Goes Wrong is perfect for the whole family and those who just enjoy watching something a little bit silly.
It will be in Bristol from July 4-9.
Other shows from members of Mischief Comedy will be at Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer too with a variety of other shows.
