THE CHEAPEST places to get unleaded petrol in the Abergele, Rhyl and Prestatyn area have been revealed as motorists are warned that average fuel prices will hit £2 per litre this summer.

The average cost of filling a typical family car with petrol could soon exceed £100 for the first time in the UK.

The average price of a litre of petrol at UK forecourts rose marginally from 175.0p per litre on June 6 to 182.5p on Monday, 13 June, according to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

That is an increase of 7.5p in just a week.

The cheapest places for petrol are:

Asda Kinmel Bay – 182.7p

BP Prestatyn – 183.9p

Tesco Prestatyn – 183.9p

Shell Abergele – 183.9p

The most expensive places for petrol are:

Shell Rhyl – 189.9p

Esso Holywell – 187.9p

Applegreen St Asaph – 187.9p

Shell Llanddulas – 186.9p

Co-op Rhuddlan – 186.9p
