A GROUP set up to improve Prestatyn’s Coronation Gardens is to hold its first planting preparation session this weekend, following the election of its new secretary.

The “dig and rake drop-in”, hosted by Friends of Prestatyn Coronation Gardens (FOPCG), is to be held at the gardens, on Station Road, on Sunday (June 19) from 10am-12pm.

Sharon said: “It is a really exciting time for the group. Membership and support is growing, and we have a lot of plans for the long-term development and maintenance of Coronation Gardens.

“We have an event taking place on Sunday between 10am and 12pm - it is a drop-in event, whereby individuals and families can come along for 10 minutes or two hours with their own gardening gloves, a trowel, rake or spade and help us with some weeding and raking.

“Even if people don’t want to get their hands dirty this time, it will be an ideal opportunity for people to visit the gardens and find out more about what we are doing and maybe tell us their ideas.”
