MOTORISTS are being warned of 'severe delays' in parts of North Waes amid holiday traffic for Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend.

Many people will be heading to North Wales over the weekend with sunny and dry weather being forecast for the region.

But, this has led to holiday traffic building up on the A55 today.

Both Northop and Pentre Halkyn are two of the worst hit areas today, but further reports this afternoon are also showing issues in Dobshill.

This is reducing the speed limit to an average of 20mph.

An Inrix Traffic Data report states: "Slow traffic due to holiday traffic on A55 North Wales Expressway Westbound from J33A (Northop Hall West) to J32A A5026 (Pentre Halkyn)."

A further report at midday stated: "Severe delays of 15 minutes and delays increasing on 34 Westbound between A55 (Dobshill) and A55 North Wales Expressway (Halkyn). Average speed 20 mph."

At abut 1pm, a crash caused disruption on the A55 in Conwy and Colwyn Bay.

The incident on the westbound carriageway, between Junction 19 and Junction 20, is causing delays to the already heavy Bank Holiday traffic.
