A MAN from Rhyl has been tagged and received a suspended sentence after he was found guilty of harassment and breaching a restraining order.

Alan Maylor, 35, of West Parade, was accused of sending emails to and calling Laurie McGowan on numerous occasions between March 12 and May 23.

He was prohibited from doing so by a restraining order imposed by Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on February 14.

Mr Maylor was found guilty of harassment without violence and breach of restraining order on conviction at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on May 24.

He was sentenced to 26 weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for two years due to his realistic prospect of rehabilitation and genuine remorse shown in court.

His whereabouts are also to be electronically monitored until 11.59pm on September 23.

Mr Maylor is also serve six months’ alcohol treatment, and a maximum of 30 days’ rehabilitation activity.

He must also pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85.
