A MAN who was found guilty of assault by beating in Towyn has received a suspended sentence and a restraining order.

David Munroe, 50, of Circular Road West, Liverpool, was accused of assaulting Jennifer White by beating her in Towyn on May 7, as well as pouring a drink over her while a child present.

He changed his plea to guilty at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on May 18.

Mr Munroe received a 16-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months.

His whereabouts are also to be electronically monitored, having been ordered to remain at his home address between 5pm and midnight every day until September 17.

He was also ordered not to contact White by any means whatsoever until May 17, 2025.

Mr Munroe is also to pay £500 in compensation, and £250 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

This amounted to a total payment of £750, to be made by June 18.
