The old Prestatyn Library was demolished this year with plans to develop new apartments and commercial space.

Located on Nant Hall Road, Denbighshire County Council awarded the development contract to Bodelwyddan-based Wynne Construction, with completion estimated for spring 2023.

The Denbighshire Housing development, which has been named “Llys Llên” to celebrate the site’s previous use as a library, will provide energy-efficient apartments designed for older persons including those with limited mobility.

New drone images courtesy of the construction company show the steel frames in place, with energy in the apartments to be generated by ground source heat pumps and solar panels on the roof to create improved energy efficient living for future residents.

A Denbighshire County Council spokesperson said: “The new apartments are expected to be ready for occupation in spring 2023 and will be accessible apartments for older persons for social rent available through the Single Access Route to Housing social housing register.”
