CLWB Bowlio Rhuddlan had great pleasure welcoming a class of Year Five pupils aged nine to 10 from primary school Ysgol Y Castell last week.
As part of the bowling club’s “Wales in Bloom: Your Neighbourhood” initiative propagated by Arwel Roberts, vice chair. and Ysgol Y Castell chair of governors, children had an opportunity to plant their own sunflower seeds around the green.
This worthwhile environmental activity ran alongside a chance to play the game of crown green bowls for the first time.

Bowling club members provided a variety of fun games on the green as taster sessions to create interest and enthusiasm.
Clwb Bowlio Rhuddlan is keen to attract newcomers of all ages to the sport and views this link with the school as a natural pathway in bridging any inter-generational gap.
The club offers free membership to juniors.
Colette Hughes, Ysgol Y Castell teacher, thanked the club for its kind invitation adding that: “The children had thoroughly enjoyed themselves!”
