POLICE say a young driver will lose his licence after being caught using his mobile phone while driving.

The young man, who passed his test in January, was spotted using his phone on the A55.

North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit said: "An officer stopped a young man on the A55 at Aber after he was spotted using his phone whilst driving earlier.

"He only passed his test in January.

"Given the penalty for using a phone whilst driving is 6 points (inc. £200 fine) he'll now lose his licence."
