A MAN from Rhyl who stole from a B&M store in the town on three separate occasions is to undertake unpaid work and pay more than £300.

Matthew Harvey, 40, of West Parade, first committed theft at B&M, at the Marina Quay retail park on Wellington Road, on January 22, when he stole nine “Unstoppables” scent boosters worth £71.91.

The following day, he stole three “L.O.L.” toy dolls, to the value of £89.97, and February 9, stole three pairs of JBL headphones worth £60.

Mr Harvey gave an indicated guilty plea to each of the three offences at Blackpool Magistrates' And Civil Courts on April 5.

He was ordered to pay compensation of £161.88, a victim surcharge of £95, and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

This amounted to a total of £341.88, which he was given until May 3 to pay.

The court also ordered Mr Harvey to complete 40 hours of supervised, unpaid work within the next 12 months.

Until April 4, 2023, Mr Harvey is also to comply with any instructions given by, and attend any appointments with, the officer responsible for ensuring he abides by his community order.

An application was also made for deductions from Mr Harvey’s benefits (reserve terms: £10 every two weeks, starting within 28 days).
