MORE than 850 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Wales in the latest 24 hour period.

The update from Public Heath Wales on Friday is was reported that 855 new cases had been confirmed in Wales.

These figures are the results of PCR testing not Lateral Flow Testing.

Sadly there were a further ten Covif-related recorded in Wales.

Of the 855 new cases, 207 were recorded here in North Wales.

The Betsi Cadwalader Health Board, which covers the North Wales region, had the highest number of new cases in Wales followed by the Aneurin Bevan Health Board with 137 cases.

  • Denbighshire 43
  • Flintshire 44
  • Gwynedd 24
  • Wrexham 44

The rolling seven-day rate of infection in Wales is now 202.3 cases per 100,000 population in Wales as a whole.

In North Wales, only Flintshire has a rate slightly above the Wales average with 204.4 cases per 100k.
