A NEW group formed to preserve and improve Coronation Gardens in Prestatyn has asked Journal readers to send them any old photos of the gardens.

“Friends of Prestatyn Coronation Gardens” was set up recently in response to a public consultation and survey carried out on the future of the gardens to consider how they can be brought back to its former glory as an outdoor leisure space.

Some of the most popular survey suggestions were flower beds, improvements to the playground and shelter.

These will form part of the group’s discussions when it next meets on Thursday, February 24 at 6.15pm at the Ty Caradoc Community Centre. All are welcome.

Their appeal for photos follows a shot from a postcard of Coronation Gardens which they recently received.

Gill German, chair of the group, said: “We would be really interested to see any other photos from the people of Prestatyn, especially showing the beautiful flower beds that many of us remember so fondly.

“If any Journal readers have photographs from days gone by of Prestatyn Coronation Gardens, then we would love to see them.”

Photos can be sent by email to german.gillian@gmail.com or shared to the group’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/groups/234334508805378.
