THOSE keen to star in the new season of TV series made by Saturday Night Live’s comedic minds are encouraged to apply for some exciting new roles.

“Documentary Now!”, an American mockumentary show by Seth Meyers, Bill Hader and Fred Armisen, is to return for its fourth season in 2022, with filming for one of the new episodes to take place in North Wales.

The Emmy-nominated Amazon Prime show parodies the current obsession with documentaries, featuring six different stories and stylistic approaches paying tribute to the traditional format.

Roles the show is looking to cast for its Welsh episode, set in the fictional countryside town of Llagoelwyn-on-Wrst, include reporters, a thief, a judge and a sheep farmer.

A spokesperson for the show said: “We are particularly interested in hearing from those fluent in Welsh who are 65+, and anyone who is based in North Wales.

“We are looking for very naturalistic and genuine takes, like talking heads. ‘The Office’ is a good reference point - the characters are not aware they're being funny.

“No experience required, and these roles are paid.

“Ideally we'd love any submissions before February 16.”

Shooting dates for the episode are likely to be in March or the beginning of April, for a handful of dates.

Those interested in applying can do so by emailing office@laurenevanscasting.co.uk, submit their name, age, location, a recent photo of themselves, and clarifying if they speak Welsh (only two characters have to speak Welsh).
