Watch the moment Steve Irwin’s son was almost attacked by a 12-foot crocodile while filming his family’s Discovery+ reality show.

Rob Irwin has followed in the footsteps of his famous “Crocodile Hunter” dad who sadly passed away in 2006 after being pierced in the chest by a short-tail stingray.

Steve was survived by Terri and his two children who continue his legacy.

His 18-year-old son has shared a snippet of the family’s new show Crikey! It’s the Irwins.

Taking to Instagram he showed the moment he escaped the attack when trying to feed Casper, a resident at the Australian Zoo.

Casper was being moved to a new enclosure to become the mid-day star of the crocodile show.

To ensure the animal was ready, Robert was tasked with feeding him but was forced to “bail” as he ran out of the enclosure.

In the video, Rob said: "A few weeks ago we had one of the biggest most challenging crocodiles moves that we've had at the Australian Zoo.

"Casper has such a wild behaviour and since dad first got Casper, he's had that instinct.”

As Rob lent down to feed Casper, the crocodile leaped out of the water and chased Irwin out of the enclosure.

The video caption said: “With such a powerful and quick croc like Casper we had no choice but to bail!”

The fourth season of Crikey! It’s the Irwins started on January 1 after being picked up by Discovery+ in 2021. The show originally aired in 2018 on Animal Planet.
