EVERY week we put a spotlight on a company with the aim of being the voice of small to larger businesses!

This week our focus is on Gamlins Law.

The leading law firm moved into a prestigious new 10,500 sq. ft head office at Morfa Hall in Rhyl in December 2021.

This followed a decision by the firm’s directors to purchase Morfa Hall at the end of 2020.

The following 12 months saw substantial renovation and refurbishment and a modern, dynamic working environment for staff, clients and other visitors was created.

Gamlins Law is extremely proud of the role it plays in the community and wants its new HQ to become a community hub for other businesses and charities to use either for meetings or for events.

The business has further offices in Mold, Ruthin, Denbigh and Holywell.

Gamlins can trace its history back to 1889, but it is under the leadership of present managing director Ron Davison [and his fellow directors] that the business has started to accelerate its growth.

This has resulted in consistent year-on-year growth and has provided the firm with the solid foundations to be able to successfully weather the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition to strong financial growth, the company acts as an important employer in the region with a current headcount of 75 including over 40 legally trained staff.

The company has established itself as the leading regional law firm for North Wales and its lawyers also regularly act for clients from other parts of the UK.

Gamlins Law provides clients with a range of business and personal legal services including commercial, commercial and residential property, employment law, family and matrimonial, children, personal injury and clinical negligence, criminal, regulatory, litigation, inheritance tax, wills and probate.

In addition to its suite of legal services, the firm also has a fast-growing sister company, HR Anchor, which provides clients with HR services.

In 2019, Gamlins Law set up its Go For Growth initiative which provides existing and new clients with a range of complementary business services including accountancy, financial planning, recruitment and insurance.

Over the years the business has had much success and there have been many highlights.

The business, and all of its staff, worked tirelessly to meet the challenges of the global pandemic.

Prompt decisions were taken to ensure the company was protected and able to, not only overcome immense challenges, but keep providing a high level of service.

Another hugely satisfying achievement has been the success of the ‘Give with Gamlins’ campaign with staff completing more than 1,000 hours of volunteering and giving £1m of pro bono legal advice.

Activities have included free legal clinics, partnerships with charities including Cancer Research UK, Tenovus and St David’s Hospice and an anti-plastic initiative with the firm supplying all staff with reusable water bottles and joining beach clean-ups.

The firm is continually looking for experienced new lawyers to join its team. Most recently, it recruited three highly experienced personal injury and clinical negligence lawyers: Simon Roberts, Elen Wynne Roberts and Sally Richards.

Gamlins Law also regularly picks up prestigious Law Society and LawNet awards for the work of its solicitors and its community initiatives.

Ron Davison, managing director of Gamlins Law, said: “We are hugely excited about the future.

“Our strategy is about continuing to evolve the services we offer our clients and attracting the best possible legal talent.

“The new office provides staff and clients with the best possible environment to achieve these goals.”
