A man has been airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries following a road traffic collision near Bala in Gwynedd earlier this afternoon (Sunday, 2nd January).

Police are now appealing for witnesses after the incident.

The single vehicle collision happened on the A4212 in Arenig shortly before 12:20pm, and involved a burnt orange coloured Jaguar F-Pace.

The driver of the Jaguar, a man aged in his 50’s, has been airlifted to hospital in Stoke.

Sergeant Jason Diamond of the Roads Policing Unit said: “We believe the Jaguar may have overtaken a few vehicles prior to the collision, so we are appealing for the drivers and passengers of those vehicles, or indeed any other witnesses to come forward.

“We are also keen to speak to anybody who may have seen the car, which is quite distinctive in colour, travelling in the area prior to the collision or anybody who may have dash cam footage, to contact us as soon as possible in order to assist with our investigation.

“The road remains closed and I’d like to thank the local community and motoring public for their patience.”

Any witnesses are urged to call 101, quoting incident number B000734.
