A FORMER Prestatyn mayor has presented two cheques for £1,500.

Cllr Tony Flynn presented one cheque to North Wales Super Kids and one to Prestatyn High that will support pupils with special educational needs.

Cllr Flynn said: "I served as mayor for two years from 2019 to 2021. I managed to raise this amount with many small events including: 60’s 70’s and 80’s nights, breakfast including guest speakers and also a charity concert at the Nant Hall Hotel. I am most grateful to everyone who supported one or more events.

"Unfortunately on both years it was not possible to enjoy a mayor’s ball due to restrictions by Welsh Government, which is the big event for any mayor to raise lots of money.

"I am so proud to have been able to support both good causes which involve children with massive need.

"North Wales superkids provides High quality Christmas presents to children who because of drastic circumstances would get nothing on Christmas morning," cllr Flynn added.

"The caravan project received a very generous donation by two Hollywood actors last Christmas.

"Prestatyn High School - I am very passion about. I am proud to have been a local education authority governor for the past 10 years.

"Out town is so privileged to have such a high achieving high school educating our children. Our town has every reason to support this marvellous school where the entire staff from the headmaster to each and everyone of staff either permanent or agency."
