THE head of education service in Conwy has spoken out about continuing face-to-face learning at schools.
This comes after Anglesey and Denbighshire councils said they would switch to online learning / blended learning.
Dr Lowri Vaughan Brown, chief education officer / head of education services, said: "Schools in Conwy will continue to offer face to face learning until the end of term as planned as we believe this is the right decision for our learners in Conwy currently.
"We will continue to review the situation locally in line with the schools’ risk assessments to determine and assess the safety of our learners. Schools will continue to monitor their situation and will communicate any changes with you.
"Before returning to school after the festive period, we encourage secondary learners to test twice with a LFD (three or four days apart) in the week before returning to school and to then continue testing regularly twice weekly."
Remote learning will continue until the end of the day on Tuesday, December 21, which is the last day of term.
In Anglesey, many pupils will end the term through blended learning.
The decisions have been made in response to concerns around the emerging Omicron variant.
