A CRASH and an oil spillage have caused long delays on two sections of the A55 this morning (November 23).

The crash, which took place in the area of Junction 27 westbound near St Asaph, caused a lane to close, and ‘heavy congestion’ as a result.

Traffic Wales confirmed at roughly 10.10am that the incident was now clear and ‘all lanes have reopened’.

And an oil spillage on the A55 eastbound from Junction 34 to 35 has caused the road to be ‘partially blocked’.

The latest traffic report stated that the road is: “partially blocked due to oil spillage on A55 Eastbound from J34 A494 Mold Road (Ewloe) to J35 A550 (Dobbs Hill).

“Traffic is coping well. Reported as closed, sensors clearly show traffic moving along this stretch.”

The eastbound carriageway was initially closed due to clearance of the oil spillage.
