A ST Asaph charity has announced details for a Christmas ladies’ lunch, with a Dyserth fundraiser, campaigner and musician as their special guest.

St Kentigern Hospice, which provides care and support for patients with any life-limiting condition and their families, will host the ‘Ladies Lunch with Jules Peters’ on Monday, November 29 at the Oriel Hotel in St Asaph at 12pm.

Jules, touring member of The Alarm and wife of frontman Mike Peters, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016, and thankfully has since been given the all-clear.

Earlier this year, she and Mike trekked the Offa’s Dyke Path, which spans the length of Wales, and raised nearly £20,000 for cancer services.

Those who attend the lunch will arrive to a red carpet, a reception drink and hors d'oeuvres, followed by a two-course Christmas lunch served at a linen-laid table with complimentary wine, while Jules tells stories of rock and roll and tales of love, hope and strength.

Jules said: “We are so lucky in our area to have the 24/7, 365-days-a-year service for people with life-limiting conditions and their families, which the brilliant team at St Kentigern Hospice provides.

“We have this special service thanks to the wonderful volunteers, dedicated staff and the many supporters who keep St Kentigern going.

“Having personally experienced the highs and lows of receiving a cancer diagnosis, and having seen the difference that St Kentigern can make for those who are unwell and who really need additional care and support, I’m delighted to be supporting St Kentigern.

“I very much hope that others will show their support by joining us for a special lunch when we will all have the opportunity to show our sincere appreciation for those who care for the patients and service users at the hospice, and help ensure that others in our local communities can go on receiving this fantastic service for many years to come.

“I’m really looking forward to celebrating the amazing contribution that St Kentigern makes in our local community at their ladies’ lunch on November 29.”

Tickets are priced at £35 and available from St Kentigern Hospice.
