DENBIGHSHIRE County Council is urging all parents, staff and pupils to remain vigilant against Covid during the half-term break.

Cllr Huw Hilditch-Roberts, Denbighshire County Council’s lead member for education, children's services and public engagement, said: “The last seven weeks have been challenging for our schools as they have sought to bring a degree of normality back to our children after the Covid measures in the previous school year.

"During this time, they have been managing the impact of an increase in Covid cases for pupils and staff and my thanks go out for their continued support.

“Our thanks go to all teachers for their continued dedication during this difficult time, pupils for their support for helping control the virus at school sites and parents for taking their children for tests when requested by Test, Trace and Protect to seek to reduce the spread of the virus.

“Staff and secondary aged pupils are encouraged to continue their twice weekly lateral flow device testing over the holiday and as ever should anyone experience the symptoms of COVID seek a test as soon as possible.”

All those contacted by Test, Trace, Protect (TTP) are asked to work with the teams and to follow the guidance given.

PCR tests can be ordered at or by calling 119.
