RHYL and District RFC played their first ever game under the floodlights.
The honour of being the first team to do so was given to the under-14s against rivals Abergele U14s.
A large crowd was there to witness this historic occasion and gave fantastic support to both teams, who put on a spectacle of junior rugby with end to end running, great handling and support play.
Rhyl and District came out victorious at 26-17 scoring four tries. Man of the match was Ben Cunnah, whose constant running was rewarded with two tries and a conversion from the touch line that any player would have been proud of.
Further tries were scored by Vincent Lanceley and Ryan McBratney. Both sets of coaches were pleased with the teams performances.
Afterwards the Rhyl team entered the clubhouse, dressed in white shirts and club ties, to a round of applause. They looked surprised with this and the memory will stay with them.
Head coach Mark Holt said it was a proud moment for coaches and parents.
