The six-part series on follows the lives of those who work on and around Llandudno's Victorian pier.

Viewers meet stall owners, entertainers and tour boatmen whose livelihoods depend on the existence of the pier, which has gone through a tumultuous period over the last year and a half.

During the first episode, Mr Williams, who was the leading interviewee, said: “I think Llandudno’s a one-off location in the world. You’ve got a sweeping bay, you’ve got two big Ormes, and the pier just juts off the end of the bay.

“There’s not a pier like it. Normally piers strut out from a straight piece of land, and this is where [Llandudno] is different.

“The view you get from that is like an amphitheatre. It’s a one-off. I can see why the Victorians built this in the first place.”

He later added: “Am I slightly crazy in owning a pier? You might say so. It’s a big risk. Depending on the weather, I might be the luckiest man alive, to own such a structure.”

The show included attractions such as Punch and Judy, carousel, the arcades, and met stallholders such as artist Lynne Morris and boat tour owner Tom Ellis.

“It’s not like a job because it’s like getting paid to do your hobby,” she said. “People are here because they love Llandudno, they love coming up and down the pier, so I’m just loving it, absolutely loving it.”
