MANIC Street Preachers have added an extra date to their autumn headline tour - and it's good news for fans in North Wales.

The Welsh rock band famous for hits including Motown Junk and You Love Us - will play at Venue Cymru in Llandudno in December.

The tour had previously only included one date in Wales - Cardiff - with other performances taking place across England, Scotland and Scandinavia.

It comes on the back of 14th studio album The Ultra Vivid Lament, with songs including Orwellian, Complicated Illusions and Happy Bored Alone.

The show is also expected to feature the Manics' popular songs from decades gone by and albums such as The Holy Bible and Everything Must Go.

Manic Street Preachers have added Llandudno to their UK tour later this year.

Fans who order the album from the band's official store before 5pm on Wednesday will receive early access to tickets.

Speaking to The Evening Show earlier this year following the announcement of the ambum and tour, frontman James Dean Bradfield said: "Bands don't ask for that much sometimes. They just ask for that magic moment where they know that the next time they go back to that place, those people that they connected with last time, they'll come back and maybe bring a friend with them.

"It's that real deep thing of knowing that somebody has understood how your band look, sound and feel is really important to a young band."

The Llandudno gig takes place on Wednesday, December 1.

Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday.
