AN ATTRACTION not for the faint hearted has been given the nod to take off.

Proposals to build the SkyFlyer, which will take riders into the air on board a gondola set on a 15m platform, was granted for approval at today's (Wednesday) Denbighshire County Council's Planning Committee.

There was 18 votes in favour of the plans. No councillors abstained.

Sean Taylor, owner and founder of Zip World, is behind the attraction that will be built on the former Sun Centre site in Rhyl.

Thrill-seekers will be taken 400ft in the air and will enjoy 360° views reaching from Moel Famau, to the Great Orme in Llandudno, all the way to Liverpool on a clear day.

More to follow.
