A CHARITY shop in Abergele has opened a new upstairs wedding store.

The shop, run by St Kentigern Hospice, sells a wide range of affordable items, including dresses for brides and bridesmaids, veils, suits for grooms and page boys, jewellery and much more.

Wendyanne Routledge, manager of the shop said: “We wanted to help all those brides who simply can't afford thousands of pounds on a wedding dress, and through kind donations from our community, we are now able to offer this service.

“They will have the happy bonus that, while buying from the Abergele St Kentigern shop, they are helping provide a valued service to our community in their hour of need.

“This has all been possible with the fabulous help of our volunteers who have given their time freely, and we are so very grateful to them.”

The store has also won shop of the month in Abergele for two months running, helping to raise vital funds to keep St Kentigern Hospice going.

Wendyanne added: “Our shop has recently gone through a massive change, which has resulted in many, many kind comments from our customers, saying how the shop is looking like a little boutique.

“The Abergele volunteers have worked so very hard during COVID, and to be awarded top shop is such a credit to their dedication.”
