KINMEL Bay continue to push for a promotion spot following a 5-1 win against Llanfairfechan on Saturday.

Despite the heavy scoreline score and periods of rain, the game was well-balanced with almost equal play at each end of the pitch at Y Morfa.

But it was Kinmel Bay who created and took the opportunities to score with a range of goals from pile-drivers to a walk-through.

After a brief sluggish start by the bay, they found themselves a goal down after just five minutes.

The Bay rallied round and seven minutes later a corner found Matty Griffiths who equalized with a powerful header in the 13th minute.

The home side then started to control the game with Anthony Colquit and Paul Brady commanding midfield, plus Kieran Ellis causing problems for The Fechan defenders.

Bay were rewarded with a quick succession of three goals, with Griffiths getting his second in the 50th minute, followed by Dan Wilkerson in the 52nd and Mat Marsh-Evans in the 54th.

The goals sealed a great performance by the Bay, despite the unavailability of key players.

Kinmel Bay now find themselves in fourth spot and battling to reach the top of the North Wales Coast East Football League table.
