Pubs, bars and restaurants are among those undoubtedly hit the hardest by the coronavirus lockdown.

Despite help in the form of Eat in to Help Out and other Government-backed assistance, many have had to close or invest to satisfy regulations, witnessing the emergence of more outside spaces.

One Rhuddlan-based pub and it’s landlord Steven Gill are understandably very proud of their team and their new facilities which are also proving a hit with customers.

Any unusual history – ghosts, pub/bar name origin etc?

The pub was the local coach house back in the 17th century and we do have a couple of resident ghosts but they cause no harm, one in the bar area and one in one of the guest rooms. The one upstairs in the guest room is a tall slender man wearing a top hat. When we had the ghost hunters here they said his presence was strong in one corner of the guest room.

We are not 100 per cent sure of the other one but it’s a woman, either a child or an elderly woman.

They never cause us any harm and when I’m cashing up at night I will often chat with them.
