KIND community members have transformed an outdoor space at a nursery after artificial grass was cruelly snatched.

Happy Days Day Nursery, in Rhyl, had their artificial grass stolen [prior to covid]; they had raised money and businesses had supported the childcare setting so they could purchase it.

Now kind people have helped create the space. Prestatyn butcher Nick Bickerstaff offered his services as well as Neil Revitt, customer at Prestatyn family butchers, and his son and friends Mason Revitt, Callum Wright and Luke Thomas.

Thorncliffe supplied the sand and stone and Huws Gray the grass.

Joanne Routledge, nursery nurse, said: “We rely on donations and don’t have hundreds of pounds to spend of grass. We had a summer fayre and we raised the funds, businesses supported us, and we went to B&M to purchase a couple of rolls of artificial grass then it was stolen.

“We just wanted a nice garden. We had phoned around, businesses had help and then they stole from our babies.

“Nick’s son goes to our nursery. Nick, customers and friends came to help and they did it so professionally and we had a donation from Carpet Right.

"It has made a massive difference.

“We can go to the beach but to have our own garden...

“It might be a bit of grass but it means the world.

“We are just so grateful to Nick and the other helpers.”
