BUSINESSES that continue to be “severely impacted” by the pandemic are being urged to apply for grant funding.

Denbighshire County Council (DCC) is helping to administer Welsh Government scheme for businesses who have had reduced turnover of 60 per cent or more in July and August this year compared to the same period in 2019 and as a direct result of coronavirus restrictions.

Cllr Hugh Evans, leader of DCC, said: “It is vital businesses apply for this funding to ensure they are getting all the support that is available to them which helps protect jobs and the economy in Denbighshire.”

Business must be able to demonstrate that:

  • They experienced a severe impact through reduced turnover of 60 per cent or more in July and August this year, as compared to July and August 2019, caused directly by on-going Covid-19 restrictions.
  • Forced to remain closed or unable to trade by on-going restrictions between July 1 and August 31 this year
  • Dedicated event space and attractions severely impacted by ongoing social distancing regulations.
  • Businesses with up to 60 per cent impact on turnover as a direct result of ongoing restrictions since May 1 and were unable to open indoors before May 17 this year
  • A supply chain business that generates 60 per cent or more of its sales revenue from businesses which have been impacted by restrictions.
  • Business which have received funding in the last 12 months which exceed total turnover in the 2019 financial year and businesses where business income is less than half of your total income are unable to apply for this funding.

Businesses with a turnover of less than £85,000 can apply via DCC from July 26 to August 9, while those with a turnover of more than £85,000 can apply via Business Wales from July 13 to July 27.

Businesses which have during the last 12 months received funding that exceeds total turnover in the 2019 financial year are unable to apply.
