WHILST most athletes are still waiting to get into competitive action, a Prestatyn Running Club veteran is breaking new ground.
Julia Evans will step up to her first ultra-distance race, a 34-mile event from Ambleside in the Lake District, which takes in two mountain passes.
The race is one of a series of trail races in the area.
It comes after Ms Evans competed in the scenic but testing Ladybower Trail Marathon in the Peak District.
The course was a tough one and the weather was very humid but she won her L55 category in 5 hours 17 minutes.
