A spokesperson for the fire service said: "Crews worked hard to put out this fire near Prestatyn Golf Club.

"Every year fire is responsible for the destruction of our countryside, open space and wildlife habitats.

"Many of these fires are preventable and caused by our behaviour."

The stop was received by 4.23pm.

The fire service were also called to three fires across North Wales on Sunday involving disposable barbecues.

The incidents involved BBQ's being put in bins on West Shore, Llandudno; Los Isallt Trearddur Bay and on the promenade in Colwyn Bay
